We are looking for a Road Safety Officer with experience in Road Safety Education. This is a varied role working in partnership with internal colleagues; the emergency services; road safety partnerships and the community. - You have experience working in a similar Road Safety Officer role. Educated to GCSE or equivalent - must include Maths and English at minimum grade A-C. Ideally with an additional qualification in a road safety or transport related field.
- You have strong knowledge of UK road safety legislation, policy and practices, and an understanding of available traffic calming measures and road safety engineering solutions
- Able to analyse data to identify trends – ideally with the ability to use and obtain data from Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
- Confident and able to work under own initiative to develop and deliver road safety awareness campaigns and education programmes
About the role:
- The Road Safety Officer has responsibility for developing and delivering road safety education programmes along with the preparation of strategic road safety documents and reports.
- The overarching objective of the post is to help improve road safety within Rutland and to work in partnership to deliver initiatives that will address community safety concerns across our county.
The Road Safety Officer role will primarily be home based, but will require the post holder to attend site/deliver training within the county as and when required.
You may also have experience in areas such as: Sustainable Transport; Education or a Highways/Transport related role.
The successful applicant for this post will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The costs for the DBS are paid by us.
The Road Safety Officer interviews will be held in early May.
