About the Post:

 

Barnsley’s Registration Service prides itself on delivering an excellent service for our customers during key life events.  As a Registration Officer you must be able to work in a pro-active and responsive manner, showing excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.  You must be able to demonstrate the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a calm, confident and professional manner with a diverse range of people in what can be highly sensitive situations.   

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate excellent time management skills, problem solving ability as required, first class communication skills and the ability to work on their own initiative to drive the service forward.  We are looking for someone with knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory regulations, policies and procedures and preferably, experience of working in the civil registration service. 

You must have a level 2 qualification or equivalent (eg. 4 GCSE’s at Grade A-C) and be committed to continuous professional development.
