About the role
East Sussex County Council is looking to recruit an experienced PA to support the Director of Adult Social Care and the Lead Member for Adult Social Care and Health. This post will involve you providing a full secretarial and administrative service, you will also be responsible for managing a small team of PA’s who provide support to the department’s senior managers.
You will need to be an experienced PA with a track record of dealing with sensitive and time-critical issues. You will be responsible for ensuring that effective planning and administrative systems are in place and maintained efficiently and effectively.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with senior-level PA or similar experience to join a high-performing team. Due to the nature of the role, it is a requirement that applicants have the ability to forward plan their workload as well as manage complex and busy diaries. Excellent communication skills are essential as is an ability to work with senior leaders.
The post holder will work closely with the ASCH leadership team and liaise with Councillors, and senior officers from partner organisations. You will need to have a good knowledge of the workings of the Council, administrative practices and procedures and a good understanding of the political environment. The ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and work using your own initiative is essential.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
