Technical Support Officer
Dartford Borough Council is looking for a Technical Support Officer with significant work experience in an ICT Team, to support and maintain, administer and develop the Council’s ICT network for both hardware and software.
The successful candidate will work as part of a helpdesk, providing face to face and telephone support and so must be familiar with technical troubleshooting and problem solving and be confident in providing support for PCs, servers and other aspects of the IT network.
You will work with the Network Controller on implementing technical solutions so you should be accustomed to developing new skills and identifying improvements and developments. You will also work with supporting external suppliers, contractors and consultants.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop and Server environments; Dell PowerEdge Server Hardware; laptop/desktop rollout, rebuilds, imaging and support; and networking skills (LANs, WANs, DHCP, DNS, VLAN, NAT, TCP/IP, Routing).
This is a full-time role. You will be expected to work Saturday mornings to provide IT support and will therefore only be required to work four and a half days Monday to Friday.
