Birmingham Children’s Trust is going from strength to strength. We are the largest provider of family support and social care services for children, young people and families in the country. Our goal is to become a center of excellence in both social care and family support.

We have an excellent residential provision that offers long term and short breaks to disabled children and their families. As part of Birmingham Children’s Trust the residential service benefit from then partnerships across the trust and work with Social Care Services Education and Health to provide wholistic services and the best package of care to children.

All the residential provisions are Ofsted registered and operate within the legal framework of The Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and The Quality Standards. The roles are subject to satisfactory DBS check, references and a 6 month probationary period. The homes are managed by a Home Manager who is registered with Ofsted and are overseen by the Responsible Individual.

We are looking for a dynamic enthusiastic people who can engage with disabled children and are passionate about getting the best outcomes for children and their families. The Residential provision is a 24hr service, applicants for these roles will be expected to work shifts, weekends and bank holidays.

For this role we are looking for someone who has at least one year’s experience supervising and management professional staff, be able to set clear direction and objectives and assume accountability, someone who inspires others by acting with integrity. You will manage, build and motivate residential teams, creating a positive environment which encourages open discussion and innovation, supports performance, builds capability and empowers staff. You will need experience in working with children and families who have complex needs. An awareness of the need to safeguard children to protect them from harm and how social and health issues impacts on the child and family.

You will need to hold the QCF level 5 or equivalent or be willing to undertake the qualification within 6 months of starting the role. You will be expected to undertake a range of training, including training in leadership and managing people, communication with non- verbal children and some health care training. We have specialist nurse trainers who will enable you to be competent in this area. You will also be expected to undertake a high level of personal care
