Fixed term for 3 years
Folkestone & Hythe District Council is a dynamic and innovative place to live, work and visit. We offer a flexible working environment, membership and reward schemes, Employee Assistance Programme, and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
The Romney Marsh Partnership (RMP) was formed in 2012 to mitigate the economic impacts of nuclear decommissioning at Dungeness by strengthening the local economy of the Romney Marsh. RMP membership is drawn widely from local government, the private and the third sector. It has been instrumental in many important projects, including the current construction of a new Business Centre and servicing of employment land at New Romney.
We are looking for an economic development specialist to support the RMP’s work over the next three years by overseeing production of a new economic development strategy, and by developing and implementing a programme of transformational projects. This post is funded for three years by Folkestone and Hythe District Council, Magnox and Kent County Council, with the potential for further extension.
If you have experience of working in economic development, are self motivated and able to take your own initiative, have excellent written and oral communication skills, are comfortable working in a political environment and want to make a difference, please apply for this post.
For an informal discussion please call Dr Katharine Harvey on 07771 773516 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
