About the role
This is a permanent role, offering £23,598 - £25,487 per annum pro rata for 37 hours per week, which can be taken between Monday to Friday, based out of County Hall, St Anne's Crescent, Lewes, BN7 1UE.

About the Role

We are recruiting for a Procurement Specialist to join our Strategic Procurement Team. This team provides direct localised support to our customers in East Sussex County Council, providing expertise on tendering activity and contributing to the delivery of service objectives, savings and other benefits, including social value. You will focus on delivery of the Councils Planned Maintenance Programme within the Property, Construction and FM Category, procuring contractors to deliver projects for the Councils corporate and educational buildings. The programme is of significant importance to the category and Property Services. The successful candidate will be undertaking competitive procurement of projects using our e-tendering software, awarding contracts and liaising with customers and stakeholders on a daily basis. You will also be involved in supporting the management and monitoring of contracts, focussing on value for money, sustainability and social value through our procurement activity.

Orbis is a shared services partnership between East Sussex County Council, Surrey County Council and Brighton and Hove City Council. Overall, the councils spend around £1.5bn with external suppliers for everything from software to social care services and from cleaning products to sports equipment, so we have a large Procurement Service which supports customers to deliver better value from our contracts and ensure we source our contracts in an open, fair and transparent way.

This job is based in our office in Lewes.
