Job introduction

Brighton & Hove City Council’s Employment and Skills Service have an exciting opportunity for a Level 3 apprentice in Business Administration working within the Apprenticeship Team . The Department is responsible for managing apprenticeships within the council and promoting the benefits of apprenticeships to other organisations.

Business administrator / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education

The Business Administration at level 3 is run by The Chichester College Group who will be responsible for supporting you with your learning and carrying out assessments. The apprenticeship standard is made up of skills Knowledge and behaviours that the apprentice is expected to learn and apply in the workplace. 

You will receive additional support from a nominated mentor, throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship.

The apprenticeship will be delivered in the workplace with additional workshop to enhance the apprentices learning.

About the role

The apprentice will gain knowledge in database management, social media, procurement, and contract management as well as working across the council and city to promote the benefits of apprenticeships.  The apprentice will work along side the apprenticeship team learning and supporting the management of in-house apprentices, this will involve procurement and contract management of training providers. The apprentice would also support in the promotion of apprenticeship both  within the council and across the city.  

Apprentices without certificate evidence of level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to completing assessment and you may be required to take an English and Maths assessment prior to a formal offer being made. 

This apprenticeship position is advertised as 25 hours over 5 days.

The apprentice will be based at Hove Town Hall and be expected to support across all council sites. You will work with a friendly, talented, hard-working team.

The duration of the apprenticeship will be up to 30 months

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Work Permits: This role does not meet the requirement for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System. Successful candidates will need to evidence that they have the Right to Work in the UK.
