The Customer and Business Support Service at Medway Council is looking for an apprentice in Customer Service. We are offering this opportunity to the right candidate who must be willing and prepared to work hard, with a good standard of education (GCSE in English and mathematics)
There will be a requirement to commit to study as part of the apprenticeship programme and to produce an NVQ portfolio. Advice and support will be available for this. We require someone with an excellent work ethic and timekeeping who is committed to learning through study and practical work. Candidates should have a good level of education including English and Maths.
This post is an excellent opportunity to gain a wealth of knowledge and experience and training in the world of customer service, with support from managers and colleagues service to go on to complete the programme.
At the end of the apprenticeship our aim is for all apprentices to feel confident and equipped to apply for permanent jobs with the experience and qualifications they will have gained. The successful candidate will form part of an apprenticeship group for the service and maybe asked to work from different locations or teams.
All apprentices will be a part of the council’s apprenticeship academy and will have the opportunity to take part in development opportunities as part of this.
As a Customer and Business Support Service we have an excellent track record of our apprentices having successfully gained permanent employment either with the council (through a competitive interview process) or in other public services or private companies, however this cannot be guaranteed.
Ideally you will have good communication and interpersonal skills, combined with competent IT skills, accurate data entry along with a good attention to detail. However we are happy to support you to reach those goals if you are highly motivated and have the desire to learn and succeed.
