Burnley is situated in Pennine Lancashire with its compact urban area, stretching along the two river valleys of the Brun and Calder and is surrounded by moorland countryside. Burnley has excellent transport links around the region including a direct train link to the City of Manchester.

 

Burnley has seen significant economic and housing growth, as one of the team in Housing you will have the opportunity to work on a range of housing projects including enforcement, landlord accreditation and licensing to help landlords improve the condition, management and reputation of the private rented sector.

 

In this interesting and varied role, you will be responsible for implementing policies and enforcement action to improve housing in the Borough. To work with partners to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of residents in the Borough. It is essential you hold a certificate in the application of the Housing, Health and Safety Rating System. You must have experience of analysing complex information and drawing conclusions from the data. You must also have current experience of enforcing housing conditions under the Housing Act 2004 and inspecting HMOs. Current experience of assessing HMO licence applications is also essential.
