Job Title: Senior Library Assistant
Salary: £19,698 pa – £20,903 pa (pro rata for part time)
Hours: 22 hours
Working as part of a team, you will deliver excellent customer service to library customers, ensuring all information, services and resources are available and promoted to members of the library.
To assist with the supervision of day-to-day delivery of all library services in HMP The Mount, including providing administrative and service support as directed by the Library Manager, HMP The Mount, and assisting in the maintenance of local partnerships, networks and fora within the prison. Deputise for the Library Manager, HMP The Mount, in her absence. Duties will be undertaken in compliance with all current prison service rules and regulations.
HM Prison The Mount is a Category C men’s prison. The library service is delivered under a contract with the Ministry of Justice. The successful candidate will have to undergo enhanced DBS checks and Prison Service security clearance and will have to complete Prison Service security training.

Hertfordshire County Council have awarded the contract to deliver the Library Service to Libraries for Life, an independent organisation with charitable status. The proposed date for transition to Libraries for Life is still to be confirmed. At the point of transition all Hertfordshire County Council Libraries employees will be transferred to Libraries for Life under TUPE rules and regulations.
