About the role

Class Teachers - The South Downs School, part of The Southfield Trust

The Governors are seeking to appoint committed and inspirational teachers for  classes of pupils with a range of learning disabilities. The posts will commence in September, 2021. One of these posts will be to cover Maternity Leave.

South Downs School is an outstanding special school that educates children aged 3 to 11 with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities including autism, PMLD and complex needs. There are around 160 pupils on roll.

South Downs is part of the Southfield Multi-academy Special School Trust along with The Lindfield School and Hazel Court School. The Southfield Trust is currently in an exciting phase of development including the opening of a new Free School.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • A high level of skills, knowledge and experience of teaching pupils with a wide range of complex learning needs

  • The ability to contribute towards supporting the wider work of the school and academy
