There has never been a better time to join Birmingham Children’s Trust.
Birmingham Children’s Trust continues to go from strength to strength.
The Trust has invested in its legal practice across the last two years, in both growing the capacity of the team and strengthening its capability at a senior level. This has also enabled the Trust to provide our solicitors and legal assistants with a strong framework of support at induction and with their career progression.
During this unprecedented time, we have ensured that our staff have the right tools and support to work remotely.
We are currently working remotely and anticipate our future working arrangements will include opportunities to continue working remotely, subject to business need and the requirements of the role to attend Court hearings and meetings in person.
We take pride in offering a high quality and proactive legal service. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team and add to our collective value. We seek high calibre legal professionals from all sectors to help us achieve our strategic growth and long-term goals. It is your determination to provide a top-class legal service, and to get best outcomes for children which will matter most.
We are a busy, friendly, well supported, established team which offers opportunity for self-development.
The recent launch of the Birmingham & Solihull Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC) pilot will provide you with an opportunity of experiencing the successes of an alternative family court for care proceedings.
Furthermore, the team is involved in a number of new projects which you will be encouraged to be a part of.
The legal assistant role is open to those with strong organisational skills. This is a fantastic opportunity to support lawyers within the legal team on a varied high-quality care caseload, assisting in all aspects of their work, and in time, your own caseload. You’ll need to demonstrate the ability to work effectively and efficiently, pay attention to detail, work to deadlines, and develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients.
In exchange for your hard work you will be encouraged to learn and develop your skills, enabling you to take your career to the next level.
The role is currently home-based with a structured induction and daily support from the team and Senior Lawyers.
We believe that looking after the welfare of the children in our society is the most important task. Our vision is to be a Legal Service that helps deliver the best outcomes for children. We have a single focus on making Birmingham’s children healthy, happy and confident. Join us and help shape our service to make our vision a reality.
