TYS Lead Support Worker
The Targeted Youth Support Early Intervention & Prevention Service works with young people between the ages of 11-19 (and up to 25 for those with additional needs) who may need support in making a positive transition to adulthood.
These young people may be vulnerable and / or are taking risks and may require help and support to prevent their difficulties from escalating. Your role will be to lead in the delivery of issue based programmes using recreational activities and resources to support the engagement process. There is a responsibility as a Lead Worker for the supervision of other staff within your team.
You will work as part of a team to provide young people with trusted adult role models to support positive choices and decision making as part of our Early Intervention and Prevention offer. The work will involve a range of duties working regular evenings as part of a team and duties can be building based, or detached / outreach
These are part time posts sessional posts operating over a 38 week calendar year to be determined by the service. There will be a requirement to work in inclement weather on occasion and to undertake mandatory training in accordance with the needs of the post/service.
Due to the current COVID restrictions, the majority of our sessional youth work activity is being delivered on a detached basis but this is changeable once restrictions begin to lift. The post is peripatetic and can be deployed to locations across the Borough where there is an identified need.
