Building Maintenance Officer - Scale 5

This post is based in Housing Solutions. The purpose of this role is to provide an effective and efficient cleaning, re-servicing, access, and maintenance service in the Council’s designated stage one temporary accommodation (hostels).

The successful candidate will be expected to re-service vacant rooms and return them to a lettable condition as soon as possible. Carry out a full programme of cleaning, security and safety checks, and waste clearance for all hostel buildings on a rotating basis. Deal effectively with enquiries from residents and escalate any concerns to the Senior Hostels Officer.

You will need to be literate, numerate, and have basic IT skills. You will also need to demonstrate your experience of dealing with residents, your ability to work across multiple sites ensuring cleaning and maintenance standards are maintained in every building and ability to communicate effectively with hostel residents and contractors to ensure the smooth running of all hostel buildings.
