About the role
We are looking to recruit an Asset Management Technician to support the wider Asset Management Team and Highways Contracts Management Group on a variety of activities. Asset Management is at the centre of our approach for proactively managing our highway network and is key to ensuring the future highway service meets the needs of our users and the aspirations of the Council.
This role is a foot on the ladder for anyone who is interested in Highway Maintenance and working with databases and enjoys understanding and developing technical solutions. You will be working closely with our Asset Engineers and Senior Asset Technician as well as service delivery partners and technical specialists.
You will be supporting on a variety of activities such as:
- managing our computer based Pavement Management system;
- collating, analysing and validating data;
- researching and preparing documents;
- working closely with other teams in our Contracts Management Group to help ensure maximum value from our highways contract; and
- supporting the delivery of our Asset Management Plan and work programmes

Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.
