Wokingham Borough Council’s is looking for a proactive and innovative specialist to join its Communications, Engagement and Marketing (CEM) Team.
You will lead on designing and delivering communications and marketing campaigns that will enhance the reputation of the council and ensure our positive messages are reaching as wide an audience as possible.
We are looking for a person with new ideas on how to market the council and communicate the great things we do via our range of channels including social media, e-newsletters, news releases and website.
You will work across the organisation with senior officers and members on all aspects of the council’s work.
Along with the rest of the CEM team you will share responsibility to respond to media enquiries as necessary.
You will have:
- The ability to develop and coordinate high-quality digital and non-digital communications and marketing channels that will allow WBC to directly reach all residents
- Innovative ideas on how the council can get its messages to all residents
- Strong organisational skills that will allow you to meet the demands of a wide range of communication campaigns
- The ability to work to tight deadlines and to communicate difficult and complex messages in clear and concise ways
This role will involve occasional evening and weekend work as required.
Key Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities:-
Designing and delivering communication and marketing campaigns to ensure Wokingham Borough Council is celebrating its successes and promoting its services to all residents.
Producing communication and marketing materials and assets including social media, e-newsletters, residents’ magazine and news releases. This will necessitate close working with senior officers, partners and stakeholders.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:-
You will have a proven track-record of delivering communications or marketing campaigns across range of channels.
You will have a strong understanding of social media communications and marketing
Ability to produce eye-catching assets and good quality communications and marketing material
You will have the ability to communicate effectively with residents, stakeholders and partners using methods such as news releases, social media and news articles
Degree level or relevant professional qualification
