About the Post:
Place Manager (Barnsley 2030)
(This is a 12-month fixed term post).
Background
This is a unique opportunity to play a vital role in making big changes happen in Barnsley!
The Barnsley 2030 project started back in November 2019 with a series of activities to paint a current picture of Barnsley. This included desk research and extensive engagement, where we spoke to our employees and engaged with residents, businesses and other key stakeholders in our borough to find out how they feel about Barnsley and our future opportunities looking forward.
Representatives from different sectors have played a crucial role in guiding us through this development and we have a dedicated Barnsley 2030 Board to implement the vision and associated ambitious goals for Barnsley driving us forward into the next decade.
Who are we looking for?
The 2030 project is now at a critical point where we are working with Barnsley's key partnership boards, groups and forums to determine our ambitious goals and the activity needed to turn these goals into reality. That is where you come in, to lead on the delivery of the Barnsley 2030 programme, related ambitions and actions and to be responsible for ensuring that the Barnsley 2030 Board effectively performance manages, monitors and achieves its delivery.
You will have a wealth of experience leading on programme management and building lasting relationships with senior leads across all sectors (council, health, schools, police, businesses and the community in general). You will be responsible for developing and delivering an engagement plan and leading on engagement and consultation activity with all key stakeholders.
You will possess a natural flair for negotiating, influencing, challenging and collaborating to ensure the effective delivery of the programme in time and within budget.
You will possess a relevant Level 6 qualification and project management experience.
We look forward to welcoming the right candidate into the team to deliver the most exciting project we’ve ever planned!
Shape a better future with us
We’re thrilled to have achieved Investors in People (IIP) Gold status for how we lead, support and develop people. Now we’d like you to be part of our success and help us take change further. A lot to look forward to
Here at Barnsley, we live and work by four important values: honesty, teamwork, excellent service, and taking pride in what we do.
