We are looking for an experienced Development Management Officer who has experience working at Senior/Principal Planner level to come and work within the planning department at Huntingdonshire District Council on a 12 month fixed term contract basis.

HDC are a supportive and accommodating employer and as such we will consider applications from candidates wanting to work full time, part time, full time flexibly or condensed hours. This role is currently homebased but candidates will need to be within commuting distance of our offices in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire and able to travel to our offices at least once a fortnight once we return to business as usual.

The main focus of the role will be to -

·       Efficiently progress and deal with a current backlog of cases within the service, this will include a varied caseload ranging from minor applications up to complex small and medium sized major applications. There will be specific outcome-based performance targets to measure progress.

You will be fully capable of independent working with minimal supervision with a track record of delivering results. This role provides a great opportunity to work autonomously and with minimal supervision while managing your own workload and it is expected that you will have operated at a principal planner or high senior planner level previously.  In particular we are seeking experienced candidates who have worked within the Public Sector.

This position is subject to HDC flexi-time policy and in agreement with the service you may arrange your work pattern to suit, and alongside your holiday entitlement our flexi time scheme allows you to take off additional hours work in addition to your holiday hours.
