Two fantastic opportunities have arisen to join our busy Software Development Team as full stack, Analyst Developers focused on a diverse range of web and software projects covering all areas of the Isle of Wight Council.
It is a genuinely exciting and key time for this authority, as we look to move to a ‘digital by default’ mindset, adopting Government Digital Services best practice to support our digital strategy and ensuring community needs are met by the best public digital services.
A key project for our team is the delivery of a new, revamped council website, one that will shape the future direction of our council’s online digital experience. We will be showcasing easy and accessible access to services and providing an exemplar digital platform for the authority.
To help us achieve our goals, we need talented, self-motivated and well organised IT professionals, with significant experience of web and digital service analysis and development to join our team and help move forward with not only this high-profile local project, but also other major and smaller development projects.
These challenging and rewarding Analyst Developer roles will suit independent, innovative and versatile individuals who will be well supported by our high achieving, friendly and approachable software development team.
Your work will be varied covering the analysis, design, and development of new and existing corporate web and software applications solutions. You will be enabling efficient business processes and electronic local government service delivery for the Council, its employees, business partners, service stakeholders and members of the public.
You will need to be flexible and creative in your approach to development work and will have a sound, up to date knowledge / experience of server and client- side development technologies including:
- Microsoft.Net Core / Microsoft .Net MVC
- C# and Object Orientated programming
- Microsoft SQL Server / Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
- Webservices REST/SOAP/WCF/JSON
- Source code versioning and management – Microsoft DevOps and GIT
- Agile Development Methodologies (Scrum)
As a systematic, disciplined and analytical problem solver, you will need to demonstrate a proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of workloads and work independently to deadlines.

During the Covid situation, these positions currently require remote working, with potential for flexible remote and / or office-based working going forward.
