Senior Policy & Strategy Officer

We are looking for a new Senior Policy and Strategy Officer to join the Projects, Policy and Performance team in Southampton City Council.
You will be working at the heart of the council as part of a small Policy and Strategy team, leading on the development and delivery of effective strategy and policy frameworks across a range of council services. This will be an important role, working closely with Senior Leaders and local elected councillors to develop policies and strategies that support the achievement of the council outcomes for the city.
You should have significant experience of strategy and policy analysis and development in a political setting, as well as an excellent understanding of local government and the local, regional and national challenges and opportunities for the public sector.
You will need excellent communication, presentation, research and analytical skills, as well as experience of thinking strategically, and anticipating and responding to complex issues with creative solutions. This is an exciting role in a dynamic and friendly team, where you can help make a real difference to the city of Southampton.

Additional information:
- This is a Fixed Term position for 2 years until 31 March 2023.
- The working hours for this post are 37 hours per week.
