About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a health improvement professional to develop their skills in playing a leading role in improving the health of people in East Sussex, within the council’s public health department.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery and development of our NHS Health Checks programme. You will use your professional experience and your broad and deep understanding of the concepts and principals of specialist health improvement to provide expert advice and support to our providers in their delivery of NHS Health Checks, with a focus on improving quality and outcomes, and addressing health inequalities.
You will support the provision of the NHS Health Check training programme, working with our training provider to ensure the training is effective and develops in response to national guidance, policy and best practice.
You will also be responsible for sexual health improvement within the department, supporting the delivery of our C-Card scheme and local amplification of sexual health campaigns. During 2021, we will commence the re-procurement of our sexual health services contract. You will provide technical input around the sexual health improvement aspects of the contract.
As a key part of the health systems team within public health, you will represent the team at strategic meetings and will work to maintain relationships with partners across the system to embed prevention and reduce health inequalities.
You will also support the public health department in our COVID-19 response, answering enquiries from across the system and providing advice and guidance.
The role is office based in County Hall in Lewes, however due to the current circumstances surrounding COVID-19 you will be required to work remotely initially.
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.
