About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Sleep-in Support Workers to join our Supported Living Team.
Sleep-in shifts are available at our Supported Living scheme in Eastbourne where 9 adults with a learning disability live independently in their own flats. This scheme operates on a 3 week rota - available shifts are;
Week 1 - Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights.
Week 2 - Monday & Friday nights.
Week 3 - Monday & Saturday nights.
We also have Sleep-in shifts available in our Supported Living scheme in Ringmer where 6 adults live in a shared house. This scheme operates on a 2 week rota, the available shifts are;
Week 1 - Thursday, Saturday & Sunday nights.
Week 2 - Monday, Saturday & Sunday nights.
Sleep-in rooms are totally secure with locked doors, a bed and clean bedding and toilet and shower facilities solely for staff use.
While the Sleep-in role is predominately lone working, you will have access to support from an on-call manager at all times.
The role requires you to carry out some support tasks an hour before sleeping in (21:30 - 22:30) and for an hour the following morning (06:30 - 07:30). *start and finish times vary slightly between schemes.
Generally you will not be disturbed during the sleep-in element of the shift (22:30 - 06:30) however should a client require support during this time the hours worked can be claimed separately if you are required to work.
To fulfil this role you will need to demonstrated that you are;
- Able to be responsive to the individual needs and wishes of clients
- Able to provide occasional support with personal care
- Able to provide support with medication
- Willing to completed general domestic tasks
- Able to complete client records
- Able to complete records relating to health and safety checks
