About the role
East Sussex Adult Social Care’s Supply Management Team is looking for a full-time Specialist Brokerage Co-ordinator within the Specialist Services Team.
This is a unique and important role sourcing good quality and best value care and support services for vulnerable adults across East Sussex, primarily working with the independent care sector.
As a Specialist Brokerage Co-ordinator, you will source and negotiate social care and support services on behalf of adults with complex support needs. This will include adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health needs. As part of your daily role you will often need to identify and respond to urgent or critical situations, liaising with the social workers, care providers and other relevant departments, to ensure a timely and co-ordinated approach.
A commitment to the principles of safeguarding vulnerable people is essential. Equally important will be your excellent IT and communication skills – from negotiating with suppliers, to recording actions taken and regular telephone conversations.
