About The Job
Salary: £29,557 - £32,234
Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week)
Location: County Hall, Chichester
As a HR Advisor you will focus on employee relations, working alongside managers to ensure that their disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence and performance management cases are managed effectively and take a proactive stance to achieving resolutions. In addition, you will work on a range of project work, supporting wide-scale restructuring and organisational change including TUPE transfers, as well as building effective business partnering relationships with stakeholders.
You will offer HR advice to managers on a range of workforce issues using a positive solution focussed approach. You will be a strong communicator and be able to influence where needed. The role of a HR advisor is a busy one, with no two days being the same but also rewarding, so you will be confident at managing your own priorities and escalate areas of risk. You will work with HR Business Partners to support the delivery of Directorate/Service People Plans and have the opportunity to work with colleagues across the HR and Organisational Development function.
Experience and Skills
You will need to have strong employee relations knowledge as well as the ability to challenge existing practices and identify innovative solutions. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to successfully influence and persuade others and be comfortable working with and analysing data that informs workforce interventions.
In addition you will also be able to demonstrate the following key skills and experience.
- Ability to quickly establish credible working relationships with clients, in order to deliver a professional, accurate and customer focused service
- Ability to analyse and interpret information, carry out research and produce well written business reports.
- Demonstrable evidence of having researched and resolved employee issues and contributed to HR policies and/or procedures reviews
Qualifications and/or experience:
- Working towards Level 5 in CIPD or equivalent qualification or experience
- Experience of providing comprehensive HR generalist advice and support to managers on HR policies, practices and processes to managers and responding to employee enquiries
