Grounds Maintenance Operative (Parks – Site Based)

We are looking for a Grounds Maintenance Operative who can mange a wide range of maintenance activities in a Parks setting including horticultural tasks, play area inspection, football pitch maintenance and cleansing duties.

You should be self-motivated with the ability to act on your own initiative and as part of a team so you will need to have a flexible approach to your work. You will also have good interpersonal skills with a commitment to customer care and will be capable of achieving targets under pressure. You will be required to keep records of completed works and comply with all Health and safety regulations, including carrying out routine checks and maintenance of supplied equipment.

Experience in Horticulture, Grounds Maintenance or Turf Maintenance is essential, and you should be prepared to work outdoors in all weathers on a whole range of horticultural tasks.

Knowledge of using a wide range of machinery and hand tools in Environmental maintenance is essential. In addition, you will also have numeracy and literacy skills sufficient to record and report basic statistical information. A current full UK driving licence with category C is desirable.
