We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic Development Management Officer to join our vibrant planning team. The role will involve dealing with an interesting and varied caseload of planning applications, including householders, prior notifications, advertisement consents, listed building consents, as well as small scale infill developments and other minor development proposals.
The post will be ideal for a motivated and keen planning graduate looking for that first job, or somebody who has worked as a development management case officer in a local authority planning department or similar regulatory environment, or at an equivalent level in a private practice. You will be exposed to a healthy culture of learning, sharing knowledge, and you will be surrounded by friendly and approachable specialists, admin staff, planners and planning team leaders.
As a Development Management Officer you will be based in one of two area planning teams. The team structure consists of a Team Leader, three Senior Development Management Officers, two other Development Management Officers, as well as a Technical Support Officer. There will be regular cross working with other internal council teams (such as Planning Admin/Heritage/Strategic/Policy teams and the Enforcement teams), as well as external bodies, for example the Environment Agency.
