Your role in our journey
We have a number of temporary vacancies covering a range of programmes and public health initiatives. You will work in close partnership with colleagues across the council, the NHS and a host of statutory, community and voluntary groups, you will lend your expertise to programmes promoting health and wellbeing. Crucially, you’ll also help us to develop, deliver and evaluate projects to tackle health inequalities. What’s more, you’ll help us to develop services, commissioning and strategies, and play a key part in needs assessments and service reviews.

Public Health Specialist Practitioner
This full-time post will lead the healthcare public health programme of work, including cardiovascular disease, cancer and NHS Health Checks to to improve population health and inequalities through preventative interventions. An experienced specialist in public health policy and methodologies, your track record will include involvement in commissioning and the development of strategies and policies to change services and outcomes and use of evidence based project management and performance management techniques to drive successful change. They will work in collaboration with colleagues to ensure public health is central to all relevant Council, CCG/NHS and partners commissioned activity.
