Hours of work: 37 hours per week (to be worked flexibly across the service to meet the needs of the disabled children and families. This includes working unsociable hours / evenings / weekends).

An exciting opportunity has arisen within The Children’s Disability Service and we are looking to recruit one full time Specialist Intervention Service support worker to work with severely disabled children and young people aged 0-19 and their families who require emergency and crisis intervention support.
The role will require flexibility and adaptability in working hours necessary to meet the needs of the service – including weekends, evenings, school holidays and after school hours and will be countywide.
The role will be to provide flexible and responsive high standard support, supervision, practical and emotional support and stability to disabled children and young people to help them to reach their potential in partnership with their families and other agencies. Your role will be working directly with disabled children and young people in order to provide families with a short break. This will involve undertaking personal care and managing children with challenging behaviour. You will be supported by high quality regular supervision and training.
You need to be knowledgeable about working with disabled children and young people. On occasions you may be working with children who have experienced abuse or neglectful backgrounds and you will need to be confident working with young people in the community on a one to one basis.
We are looking for experienced, flexible and creative staff who can make positive relationships with young people. Ability to work flexibly with children and young people of all ages. You will require an enhanced DBS check.
