Are you looking for an opportunity to join East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service? We could have the role for you. The County of East Sussex is made up of urban, coastal and rural areas, with the diverse and vibrant city of Brighton and Hove and the smaller coastal and market towns and villages, that make the County such an attractive place to live and work.
Due to the introduction of a tiered structure within the Business Safety Department for East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service, there are some exciting opportunities to join the Department in a non-operational capacity and contribute to the Service fulfilling its statutory duties and achieving its strategic purpose of ‘We make our communities safer’.
The successful candidate will be required to carry out regulatory inspections of premises in-line with our Risk Based Inspection Programme and offer advice and education and enforce where necessary.
You will also be responsible for undertaking a full range of Business Safety activities in accordance with Protection policy and procedures. These duties will include building consultations, licensing applications and responding to complaints. This will require the preparation of reports and appropriate documentation related to Fire Safety Inspections and to supervise workloads within allocated areas of responsibility. There will also be a requirement to work outside of offices hours for certain high profile events such as Pride in Brighton and Hove.
The successful candidates should be qualified to a minimum of Level 4 Certificate in Fire Safety.
