We are recruiting six Street Cleansing Drivers to join Cityclean team.
This entails driving / operating a range of mechanical sweeper or as part of a team on a van providing a high standard of cleanliness in designated parts of the city.
Four of the jobs are in Central area on a shift working basis:
Three roles for 5:00am to 13:00pm* driving an array of vehicles including small dustcarts and transit vans as required on rolling rotas. Extra payments are made for early starts and weekend working. One role for 13:40pm to 22:00pm* driving an array of vehicles including small dustcarts and transit vans as required on rolling rota. Extra payments are made for late finishes and weekend working. This role requires candidates to hold a CPC card in order to be considered. You will be give opportunity to let us know about your qualifications during your application.
One Commercial waste. Shift 8am to 4pm Tuesday to Saturday.
One role for mechanical sweeper / transit van driver (please see separate JD) in the Hove area. This starts 6:00am to 14:00am* and is Monday to Friday. This role requires candidates to hold a CPC card in order to be considered. You will be give opportunity to let us know about your qualifications during your application.
Training, personal protective clothing and equipment will be provided and you will be required to undertake a driving assessment.
About the role
To drive / operate Council vehicles / equipment and undertake duties in connection with emptying litter bins and sweeping, collection and removal of litter, dirt, leaves and refuse from public spaces and other designated areas in accordance with daily instructions and the specification of the service.
Applicants for the role must hold a clean driving license C with CPC card.
You should have a good understanding of the Highway Code, be able to complete legal driving documentation and be able to carry out vehicle checks and routine maintenance.
The ability to drive safely in crowded pedestrians areas is essential.
Applicants should have excellent communications skills both written and oral.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
