Democratic Services Officer
Hertsmere is located in southern Hertfordshire – we are 13 miles from Central London and within the M25. We adjoin Greater London with excellent road and rail links making London and the Home Counties easily accessible. The Council Offices are situated in Borehamwood within Zone 6 and with a direct rail link into London Kings Cross St. Pancras. The area is an internationally renowned centre for film and television production, home to BBC Elstree and Elstree Studios (a council owned asset).

Your main duties would include organising meetings, compiling agendas, providing procedural advice and writing minutes, for example, for Planning, Licensing and Scrutiny Committees.
You will need to be highly organised, accurate and flexible in your approach, with a practical grounding in committee support so you are confident and diplomatic when dealing with Councillors and Officers.
The opportunities and tasks will be varied so you must be able to work independently and be a proficient IT user, ideally with experience of committee management and remote meetings software.
The post is offered on a full time, permanent basis (36 hours per week).
