Join our dynamic Family and Friends Team

Our Family and Friends Team provide an amazing opportunity for experienced social workers to work in a stimulating and supportive environment. The team’s ethos is that we do everything we can to place children safely within their family networks. The nature of the work means that those practitioners with family commitments can work part time and there is a lot of flexibility in the working hours.

The social workers in the team undertake full assessments of family and friends carers. Most of these assessments are Court directed, and they need to be of a high standard, with good risk assessment and analysis. As well as being able to assess what makes a suitable carer, the social workers in the team need to understand the child’s journey, and have some experience of care proceedings.
