We have a rare and exiting opportunity to recruit an experienced Technical Officer to work within the Council’s Private Sector Housing Team.
The successful candidate will have a good standard of education with a broad knowledge of all relevant legislation. You will be self-motivated, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as an agile approach to their work.
The role is responsible for all aspects of work related to administering Disabled Facilities Grants and Housing Assistance, from initial enquiries through to completion of works. They will assist in the enforcement of housing standards within the Borough and related housing initiatives.
They will assist with the identification, inspection and licensing of houses in multiple occupation (HMOs). They will work with landlords and residents to ensure compliance with licence conditions and taking enforcement action where necessary. They will assist with the licensing of caravan sites in the Borough and the inspection of those sites. They will work with licence holders and residents to ensure compliance with licence conditions and taking enforcement action where necessary.
This is a part time role working two days/14.8 hours per week, there is some flexibility as to when the hours can be worked so please state in your application form which days and times you are available.
