More about the Role:
At Allison House we want every resident in our care home to get the highest standard of care. By giving older people a good quality of life we're making Central Bedfordshire a great place to live for all. As a Care Assistant, you will be working directly with our residents at Allison House and you'll find your greatness as you make sure vulnerable people are safe, well and happy.
This is an important role for which you will receive our full support, including full training and induction. Your main task will be to provide personalised care to the residents giving you an opportunity to show kindness while making things simple and having fun. You will help with washing and personal hygiene, preparing drinks and snacks, and administering medication if necessary, once training is complete. Every resident is different, and you will need to respect their individuality. We are all about creating a friendly, supportive environment - one where independence is promoted and the residents are free to make their own choices.
Ideally, you will have worked with elderly people before, including those with Dementia and physical disabilities. However, we are interested in people with a naturally caring attitude, who are honest and hold a strong level of humility.
Join us, and you will have an opportunity to build your skills with high quality training. Even better, you will find your greatness by taking care of people and enhancing their well-being.
Central Bedfordshire Council has its own vision and values that are integral to everything we do. Our area vision is to make Central Bedfordshire 'A great place to live and work’.
Please note that if you already work in another health and social care setting (e.g. another care home, home care provider or hospital ward) and intend to remain in that job, we will be unable to offer you a post with us at the moment. This is due to Public Health England guidance that advises care staff should not move between facilities due to the risk of transferring coronavirus.
