To carry out general cleaning and sanitisation of the Civic Centre including; kitchens, toilets, meeting rooms, staircases, office areas and common areas. To ensure the interior and exterior of the Civic Centre building is to a high standard of cleanliness. Cleaning tasks to include however are not limited to cleaning toilets, mopping floors, cleaning and sanitising desks, high and low level dusting, cleaning and sanitising fixtures and fittings, hoovering, changing bins, unblocking toilets, replacing toilet rolls, hand towels and soap as required. Cleaning machine work will also be a requirement of the role. The Post holder will be responsible for ensuring the toilet facilities and kitchens are fit for use and that any floods or blockages are cleared in a timely manner. The Post holder will liaise with the Facilities Officer to report any repairs and maintenance issues including any Health and Safety concerns. The Post holder must be flexible and may be required to work early hours and undertake work not listed above, such duties will however fall within the scope of the role.
Previous cleaning experience, good knowledge and understanding of COSHH, Health and Safety in the workplace, experience of working individually and as part of a wider team, Good understanding of manual handling and safe systems of work. Ability to work unsupervised and alone using own initiative.
First Aid qualification and clean driving license.
