Job DetailsYour Sanctuary is a Surrey based charity which provides specialist support to women, men and children affected by domestic abuse. We are very proud of our helpline and online chat service through which we offer both practical and emotional support and are now looking for a Helpline Advisor to champion the delivery and development of this service.
This is a demanding and interesting role where you will be covering a daily helpline shift as well as training and supporting a team of volunteers, reviewing and updating policies, and looking for ways of enhancing the service we provide. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your initiative and develop your skills and experience whilst making a real difference to our service users.
Experience of supporting individuals affected by trauma, either via a helpline or in person, is essential. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively (in person, over the phone and in writing); strong IT and aorganisational skills are necessary and knowledge of issues relating to domestic abuse would be advantageous. In return, we can offer a stimulating and supportive working environment, and opportunities for training and development. We also provide 25 days annual leave, a contributory pension scheme and an employee assistance programme.
Closing date of Friday 16th January 2021 (5pm) but please be aware that applications will be considered as they are received as we are looking to fill this post as soon as possible.
