Stepping Stones is a new Recovery College that will be launched in Bracknell, in September 2021. It is an independent Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) but will work in close partnership with a wide range of Statutory and voluntary services. The main aim of Stepping Stones is to give people experiencing problems with their mental health and anything else affecting their quality of life, the opportunity to attend courses and training programmes that help them to better understand their condition, take control of their recovery and ultimately, to lead a happier, more fulfilling life. The college will focus on people’s talents and strengths and create a culture of personal empowerment, hope and possibility. We will also provide accredited training for anyone wishing to become Peer Support Worker and mentor to others. All our courses are free and can be attended by anyone aged 18 or over, living in the Bracknell Forest Borough. This includes family members, friends and professionals, as well as those living with personal health challenges. All the courses are co-produced, co-developed and co-delivered by those with lived experience of illness, as well as professionals and volunteers.
We will be opening the college to students, for the first time, in September 2021. To do this we need to have a Steering Group in place by this Spring and, an important person on this, will be a highly organised, skilled administrator and great communicator. Someone who can initially create and then maintain and improve, all the college’s administrative and communications systems. The role involves being able to effectively manage all the Recovery College processes and procedures, including the development and distribution of course materials, student registrations, data collection and analysis. Another important responsibility will be to create and maintain up to date an inspiring presence for Stepping Stones on our interactive website and social media. Our Administrator will also need to feel confident about engaging and collaborating with a wide range of local health and social services, voluntary groups and businesses.
All successful candidates for this role will be subject to Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks along with other relevant employment checks.
Stepping stones is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Number 1189763) and we are an equal opportunities employer. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
