Chesterfield is a great place to live, work and play, with a proud heritage and significant ambitions for the future of its communities. We are centrally located with excellent transport connectivity, with a future that includes an HS2 station.
The Council is strengthening its commitment to economic development and regeneration. It recognises this is even more important as we manage the recovery from the economic impacts of Covid-19. We are also the gateway town to the Peak District National Park and close to two of England’s core cities.
The Council plays an active role in the D2N2 LEP and works closely with a number of key stakeholders to ensure the regeneration ambition is achieved. As part of that approach we have formed a Joint Growth Project Delivery Unit (JGU) with Derbyshire County Council to accelerate and support the delivery of our key growth projects.
To help realise our economic growth ambitions, as set out in our Growth Strategy, we are looking for a dynamic self-starting project manager with a track record of successful delivery to join our team. You will be a key part of the JGU led by the Project Delivery Manager and tasked with delivering key regeneration schemes and complex projects in Chesterfield alongside other skilled members of the JGU to meet our growth agenda.
This is an exciting and challenging role and we are looking for candidates with a balance of professional and technical experience on capital regeneration projects with excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills to deliver projects efficiently and effectively.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, tenacious and passionate about delivering the best project outcomes for Chesterfield.
The Council has fully adopted agile working policies to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery. We want to hear from people passionate about the role that regeneration can play in positively changing places.
