About the job
Wokingham Borough Council is recruiting a full time Team Manager to lead our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team and who will play a key part in improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND in Wokingham. The role includes all aspects of managing a team to effectively lead and coordinate the delivery of statutory SEND services to provide the best possible outcomes for SEND children and young people.
About the Person
The role includes all aspects of managing a team to effectively deliver the statutory assessments, reviews and placements for children and young people with SEND. We are seeking a highly motivated individual, an expert in SEND with significant experience and knowledge of the statutory framework, SEND funding and performance management. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and management skills. You will be ensuring compliance with regulations; tactical and strategic application of the regulations in order to secure outcomes compatible with the legal guidance and the LA’s performance targets. It is therefore likely that you already work in a SEND team delivering these functions at a senior level. You will also have experience of working closely with parents, children & young people, and collaboratively with other services and partner agencies to improve outcomes for children and young people under statutory assessment or with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHC Plan) living in Wokingham.
