- Provide professional advice to the governing board on governance, constitutional and procedural matters. The 2013 regulations require governing bodies to have regard to advice from the clerk in regards to exercising the governing board functions.

The Weald Federation was formed in September 2019 with the amalgamation of Saxonbury (Frant and Mark Cross) and Aspire (Mayfield and Five Ashes) Federations.
