SALARY: £20,092 to £21,748
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic person to join our Building Maintenance Technical Support team based at our Old Road Offices. Candidates should be capable of dealing with people in an efficient and courteous manner, able to work on their own initiative with the minimum of supervision, and above all be flexible in their approach and able to work as part of a busy team. A pleasant, calm personality is vital.
The principal duties will include the receiving, diagnosing and processing repair faults, principally from Council tenants, commissioning works orders, making appointments, allocating repairs and keeping the Building Maintenance databases up to date with current job history.
Candidates should have a good standard of education, experience of customer care issues and possess excellent interpersonal skills. A technical knowledge of basic repairs tasks would be advantageous and good levels of common sense essential. They should have proven administrative skills with the ability to undertake a range of duties and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software. The successful candidate will have experience of working with the public in an advice giving capacity or in a customer-orientated work environment and be able to demonstrate a commitment to customer service.
Although flexible working hours are offered, there is a requirement for hours to be worked on a rota basis in order to cover phone calls and deal with operative queries. As such, these 37 hours will be over a 5 day week (Mon-Fri) and require either starting at 8am or finishing at 5pm, with some level of flexibility through team work.
