Full Time – 37 hours

 

£26,107 to £28,367 inclusive salary per year 

Plus up to 18.5% employer pension contribution

St Albans is a unique English Cathedral City with a colourful history which can be seen in the Roman remains and variety of beautiful architecture, heritage sites and conservation areas. Set within green belt, off the M25, A1M and M1 the District includes a cathedral, historic city centre and charming villages. In this role you will ensure that the car parking permits and appeals are handled in a fair, accurate and consistent manner and in compliance with the legislation, best practice and Council’s policies/procedures.  You will be expected to maintain an excellent customer focused approach at all times. You will also promote responsible parking through advice, persuasion and education and minimise the number of penalty charge notices appealed against, minimise cancellations and maximise income recovery.  There will be opportunities to get involved with the organisation of events that impact on the highway/car parks and ensure the necessary arrangements are in place.

 

Our ideal candidate will have recent experience of working in an enforcement environment as well as an ability to resolve difficult and sometimes confrontational situations, courteously and sensitively.  A knowledge of Traffic Regulation Orders, legislation and guidance associated with traffic/parking matters is essential as is experience and commitment to delivering high quality customer care.  A valid full driving licence is also essential.
