CARETAKER VACANCY

Hours of work: 15 Hrs per week, Mondays – Friday (times negotiable)

Salary: £7,675.54 - £7,829.19.24 per annum

Pay Scale: Single Status Grade 4 Point 9-10

We are looking for an enthusiastic Caretaker who takes pride in his work and will join our happy school team.

The post holder be responsible for the cleanliness of the grounds, maintenance and security of the school.

The successful candidate will demonstrate some understanding of health and safety requirements including COSHH (fully training will be provided), the ability to identify work priorities and manage workload as well as being be able to undertake routine maintenance, basic repairs and DIY tasks.

School experience is not required as training will be provided to up skill the right candidate. Some literacy, numeracy and ICT skills are desirable to meet the record keeping requirements of the post.

The post holder should be able to act on their own initiative working with the School Business Manager and Head of School to ensure the security and safety of the school premises and grounds. The times are negotiable and may therefore suit a candidate who has other commitments.

Duties will include:

  • Ensuring the school premises is clean and tidy
  • Liaising with contractors and the contract cleaning team
  • Hall floor cleaning
  • Advising when large repairs are needed
  • Carrying out small maintenance repairs and
  • Completing daily, weekly and periodic health and safety checks.
