St Albans is a unique English Cathedral City with a colourful history which can be seen in the Roman remains and variety of beautiful architecture, heritage sites and conservation areas. Set within green belt, off the M25, A1M and M1 the District includes a cathedral, historic city centre and charming villages. Our refurbished offices are in the city centre near to the station (London St Pancras 20 minutes), shops and restaurants. In short it is a great place to live and work.

Based in one of the Council’s car parks, you’ll be responsible for carrying out patrols of the car parks and streets within the district and ensuring residents and visitors to the area are parking in safe and accessible locations. You’ll need to issue penalty charge notices to vehicles if appropriate in accordance with relevant legislation, guidance and good practice.

It is essential that you are able to effectively manage challenging situations, conflict and potentially manage high risk situations in a calm and sensitive manner. We’re seeking a talented individual to work with our team but also someone who is able to work independently. You’ll ideally hold a City and Guilds qualification in Parking Enforcement or equivalent. Knowledge of Traffic Regulations, legislation surrounding parking matters and principles of good enforcement is highly desirable.

We offer a competitive package which also includes up to 25.5 days annual leave, pension scheme, reimbursement of professional fees, access to parking, training and development opportunities, flexible working options, leisure and travel discounts and a number of other benefits.
