St Albans is a unique English Cathedral City with a colourful history which can be seen in the Roman remains and variety of beautiful architecture, heritage sites and conservation areas. Set within green belt, off the M25, A1M and M1 the District includes a cathedral, historic city centre and charming villages. Our refurbished offices are in the city centre near to the station (London St Pancras 20 minutes), shops and restaurants. In short it is a great place to live and work.
In this post you will be responsible for the day to day operational supervision of our parking enforcement team. You will undertake effective performance management and training of Civil Enforcement Officers (CEOs) to minimise the number of cancellations and penalty charge notices that go to appeal, organising their deployment across St Albans and District. You will also ensure the effective enforcement of regulations, control of on and off-street parking, patrolling designated parking places and issue penalty charge notices if needed.
The ability to manage conflict and deal effectively with challenging customers on a regular basis is essential for this post. Your hours of work will be on a rota basis and will include weekend work. A City and Guilds Level 2 award for Parking Enforcement Officers or equivalent is required for this role, as well as a full driving licence or commitment to obtain this. You must have a working knowledge of Traffic Regulation Orders and legislation relating to traffic/parking matters, as well as a sound knowledge of the principles of good enforcement.
We offer a competitive package which also includes up to 25.5 days annual leave, pension scheme, reimbursement of professional fees, access to parking, training and development opportunities, flexible working options, leisure and travel discounts and a number of other benefits.
