Internal Auditor

Do you have an enquiring mind? Do you like problem solving?

These are the skills you need to be an auditor along with being able to work on your own initiative and use your investigatory skills. We look at processes and systems to see how well they work and whether they can be improved. We are also looking to see that there are checks in place to prevent and detect error or fraud.

The work is diverse, covering all areas of both councils. Whilst we do audit financial systems there is not a lot of figure work involved and you can find yourself auditing a range of areas such as cemeteries, events, contracts or elections.

You will need to have a good level of written English and grammar as you will be writing your own reports on the work you carry out.
