About the role

Owlswick School and Home is seeking to recruit to a Team Manager post.

Owlswick provides care and education to vulnerable young people who have SEMH.  We are situated in Lewes and are 20 minutes away from the lively city of Brighton. Our experienced staff are proud to provide high quality care and education for young people in order for them to achieve their aspirations and become resilient, confident and independent young adults. 

Staff support and work with young people who can display challenging behaviour and are likely to have undergone traumatic and adverse experiences in their previous lives.
The Team Manager is a full time management post working within our care team in the children’s home. You will be required to lead a group of care staff working across a shift pattern which covers days, evenings and weekends. There is also a requirement to provide sleep-in cover.

We are looking for an experienced manager of people who is able to demonstrate dynamic and creative leadership skills. You will have a good knowledge of the residential care sector and be experienced in working with and supporting young people to achieve their potential.  The manager's post will form part of a small management group who work together to plan, problem solve and make decisions about the day to day operations of the home.

The successful applicant will need to have at least one year’s experience of working in a residential care setting or in an equivalent area in a managerial role. Preferably the post holder will have a QCF Level 3 in Residential Child Care and/or be willing to achieve this. Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications and will be circa £23,000 to £24,000. There is ample onsite parking in the grounds.
