Wealden and Rother Legal Services is a shared service partnership between Wealden District Council and Rother District Council. We are looking for a Legal Officer to work as part of our busy legal team offering support and advice to both Wealden and Rother District Councils. This role involves conveyancing matters for both Councils including drafting and completing routine conveyancing documents, such as leases, licences and right to buy transactions.
You will need knowledge and understanding of the law relevant to the post and either a degree level qualification and/or equivalent work experience in a similar environment. You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, good IT skills and the ability to organise and manage your own workload. Strong administration skills combined with a keen interest in legal matters will be key to your success and growth within our highly professional department.
This post is based at Vicarage Lane, Hailsham but you will also be expected to work at the Rother offices in Bexhill when a business need arises and we can offer the opportunity of Flexible/ Homeworking in accordance with operational needs.
