Youth Offending Service Team Manager with additional lead for Contextual Safeguarding.
Do you want to join us? This is an exciting new opportunity to be part of a newly created role to lead our improvement journey for those children at risk of offending within the criminal justice system and develop our response to contextual safeguarding.
You will have responsibility for the Youth Offending Service and accountability to the YOS Board. You will manage and lead services that protect the public, ensure the needs of victims are prioritised and promote restorative justice principles. You will support children and young people to lead offending free lifestyles and improve overall outcomes and life chances for young people on the cusp of or involved with offending.
Wokingham is keen to develop its Contextual Safeguarding approach and improve our response with our partners to criminal exploitation. This role will therefore require someone who is passionate, innovative and able to work collaboratively with a number of agencies to deliver an approach that improves the safety of children in their communities.
We know that the success of this role will be dependent upon the person we employ and are keen to hear from those that have experience within the Youth Offending Service and an understanding of latest research and practice frameworks to improve public protection and outcomes for children. You will need to be flexible, dynamic, creative and able to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
To enable you to work to your best, we will develop you in your role and as part of the team; additional training and support will be provided and you will have an opportunity to further develop the range of interventions and skills you bring, to make a difference to children.
